Multibeam sonars achieve a high degree of precision and accuracy by time-stamping each sound pulse they transmit and precisely measuring the time and angle of the echo. Our equipment can be used to create detailed 3D terrain models of the seabed.
The Seafloor SeaRAY™ is a compact multibeam echo sounder (MBES) specifically designed for high-resolution bathymetric surveys on small boats and unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). Thanks to its compact size and hydrodynamic, energy-efficient design, the system is particularly easy to integrate and enables long periods of operation at sea.
Technically, the SeaRAY™ operates in the high-frequency range of approx. 400–550 kHz, achieves a swivel width of up to 130° and generates hundreds of reception beams per ping. An integrated INS, along with motion and roll compensation, ensures precise measurement data even on a moving platform. In addition to bathymetry, backscatter data is also output to determine the nature of the seabed.
The system is compatible with common hydrographic software such as HYPACK, Qinsy and EIVA and is particularly suitable for surveys in rivers, lakes, harbours, quarry lakes and coastal waters. With its combination of high data quality, easy integration and low power consumption, the Seafloor SeaRAY™ represents a powerful multibeam solution for modern, mobile hydrographic projects.
